Video | Kenny Morrell on Experimentation in Higher Education

On November 8, 2014, faculty members gathered in Washington, DC to plan “Reading the Odyssey“, the Sunoikisis course currently in session during the spring 2015 semester. Kenny Morrell, Sunoikisis program director and an Associate Professor at Rhodes College, gave an inspiring, impromptu speech to encourage faculty members to experiment with their pedagogy and create a space for innovation and creativity. Additionally, he highlighted the unique dynamics an inter-institutional, online course offers as well as the opportunities new technologies provide for teaching and learning. Although Kenny addressed his “sermonette” to a small audience of professors about to design a course on the Odyssey, his words will resonate with faculty in any discipline who are learning to adapt to the changing landscape of higher education.
